CHALLENGE
Flanders has a rich tradition of successful and large-scale Citizen Science projects. More and more citizen science initiatives are using IoT sensors and making them available via open APIs. An integrated sensor map combining multiple types of air quality and traffic sensors can provide local insights into the liveability of cities and city neighbourhoods.
STATUS : started
LOCATION : Belgium, Ghent
TARGET AUDIENCE : citizens of Ghent
APPROACH
By using the DUET digital twin an overview of IoT official measuring stations combined with citizen science sensor data.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
An overview map of IoT sensors in Flanders showing live and historical traffic count and air quality data.
<<>>
<<>>
For this case we used terrain data, the LOD2 buildings in Ghent and LOD1 buildings in Flanders combined with traffic counting loops, open Air Quality sensor data and Telraam traffic counters.
No models were used for this case.
